I am now pleased to offer photography workshops for individuals or small groups ( 2 -3 persons) interested in a full day or a half day photoshoot around the Aberdeenshire area at weekends.
My workshop are aimed at improving your photographic vision and "seeing images" that you may otherwise miss.
I shall explain the photo taking process in a friendly clear non technical way - not in baffling photo jargon.
Subjects we will cover include composition, - what makes an interesting image, how to use ND graduated filters and ND Filters e.g 10 Stop type; The essential equipment for landscape photography - what you really need and what you don't.
Locations visited would be selected from Aberdeen Beach; Footdee; Stonehaven Harbour;Cowie Shore; Skatie Shore; Muchalls; Dunnottar Woods; Dunnottar Castle; Crawton; Catterline; Johnshaven; St Cyrus Nature Reserve; Gannochy, Edzell and Rattray Head.
What equipment would you need to bring along? Of course, a camera is essential!
Don't worry if you do not have a tripod, I will provide one for use on the day along with a Quick Release plate to affix to your camera.
For my workshops stout footwear e.g walking shoes is highly recommended. Wellington boots for coastal photography is definitely required. Warm clothing / gloves and a hat (especially for sunrise/ sunset shots) are recommended.
Please note that access and exit points to Muchalls includes a short though steep climb with a rope aid. A reasonable level of fitness would be required for this location. However, there is a seating bench around half way and at top of the cliff for resting.
Interested? Please contact me to enquire about dates, price etc. It would also be helpful if you could advise your level of photography experience e.g Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced to enable me to plan locations so you get the best out of your workshop.
